32GB pendrive vs 500GB portable HDD -maathi yosi

Now, we can get 32 GB pen drives or 320GB/500 GB portable HDD (2.5 inch) for same price.

It is wiser to go for portable HDD than buying 16 GB /32GB pen drives.

If you are buying Pen drives - go for Sandisk, Transcend pen drives.


Buying Checklist Pen drives:
1. Check brand.
2. See warranty.
3. Sealed packing or not.
4. Decide the capacity of pen drive, purpose of it.
5. Don't buy very high capacity pen drives, instead you can go for portable HDD

Buying Checklist Portable HDD:1. Check brand and warranty.
2. check size of HDD either 2.5 inch or 3.5 inch.
3. Check for USB 2.0 interface.
4. Portable HDD(2.5 inch) doesn't need external power adapter. While Portable HDD(3.5 inch) may need external power adapter, but costs less.


Beware:
Some fake Chinese pen drives are available in market for cheap price. Even though they show capacity of 32 GB, you can copy only upto 250 MB only.

RO purifier is good or bad

I had bought a new purifier Eureka Forbes Classic one year ago.

Before buying classic, I had delima whether to buy UV based purifier or RO (reverse osmosis) based purifier.

Based on various reviews, Boiled water is only safe.

Here are few advantages and disadvantages of various purifiers.

1. RO Purifier Advantages

• Removes salt.
  

• Best purified water.

RO disadvantages

• Not good for children, as it is removes minerals.
• Children may get infected frequently, if they drink other than RO purified waters.

2. UV based Purifier Advantages

• Quick filtering.
• Costs less than RO purifiers.
• Instant filtered water are viruses, bacterias.

UV purifier Disadvantages:

• UV rays will not kill bacterias, it will only disinfect them.
• UV filtered water has to be used within 4-5 hours. After that, the bacterias may regenerate.
  

3. Boiled Water

• It is only the safest method.
• Doctors advices to drink only boiled water.
  
• Only Boiling kills bacterias and viruses.

Will Black background save power.....?

Hi,

http://www.blackle.com/ is a customized google search engine with black background to save energy.

The concept behind is CRT monitors uses less energy in displaying black pixels than displaying white pixels. So using black background for web pages, ultimately reduces power consumption by CRT monitors.
